University City Hires Economic Development Director
Libbey M. Tucker is set to start in the role on February 4

(UNIVERSITY CITY, MO/ January 18, 2019) – The City Manager of University City, Gregory Rose, announced today that he has appointed Libbey M. Tucker as the city’s Assistant to the City Manager/Director of Economic Development.

Tucker is an experienced economic developer and municipal manager, having most recently served as the Assistant City Administrator and Economic Development Director for the city of Chesterfield, Missouri. Her decades of experience in economic development, makes Tucker the ideal person to serve in this new role, Rose said.

“As University City continues to grow, we are thrilled to have Tucker on staff to maintain our strong momentum,” Rose said. “Her experience in management, neighborhood improvement and creative problem solving will be a true asset to the citizens of University City.”

Tucker has worked across the state of Missouri to build jobs and business in communities including Springfield and O’Fallon.

She has a Master’s of Business Administration from Drury University, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and became a Certified Economic Developer in 2001, after graduating from the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma in 2000.

Tucker has an impressive history of public service. She serves on the boards of the Commercial Real Estate Women of St. Louis and the Missouri Economic Development Council. She is a member of the International Economic Development Council and International Council of Shopping Centers, and volunteers with ITNGateway, Transportation for Older Adults.

“University City is uniquely poised for growth and redevelopment opportunities. This diverse and vibrant city has much to offer and I am eager to lend my knowledge and talents to help businesses and residents thrive and prosper,” Tucker said.
