The Board of Adjustment hears and determines all appeals for variances in zoning matters, as provided by the City Charter and under state law.
The Board has five citizen members and must include a structural engineer with not less than five years professional experience; an architect with not less than five years professional experience; a member with not less than five years experience in the real estate business; and two members appointed at large. There are also three alternate members.
The term of office is five years. The Board usually meets in the EOC Room located in the basement of City Hall at 7:30 pm on the third Wednesday of the month when there is business.
