Curbside NEW Single Stream Recycling Program
U. City residents are encouraged to participate in the city’s weekly curbside recycling program. Currently U. City recycles about 30 percent of the city’s solid waste, which is an annual goal.
All about single stream recycling. You can recycle in 3 easy steps:
- Place all acceptable items inside the cart. The automated trucks will not collect material on the street or curb. Rinse containers first. Avoid placing soiled items into the cart.
- Roll your cart to the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection day, or after 5 p.m. on the day before your scheduled collection day (don't miss your collection).
- Return your cart back behind your front building line when empty, but no later than 9 p.m. on the scheduled collection day. Keep the lid closed when not in use.
Here are some general guidelines to follow:
- Make sure there are no obstructions within 4 feet of the cart (i.e. another cart, parked car, street light, tree, etc.).
Need a recycle cart? Call Public Works at 314-505-8560. Please allow 5 to 7 business days for delivery.
Recycling collection facts:
Recycling is collected once a week at the curbside as part of our City-wide solid waste collection services. Refer to the Sanitation Route Map and Schedule to determine your trash and recycling collection day.
