Missourihomeowners, renters and businesses caused by the flooding and storms betweenApril 28 and May 11, 2017have two weeks left to register
and apply for federal disaster assistance. The deadline to register for assistancefrom the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and to apply for
low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)is Monday, Aug. 14, 2017.
· Survivors – homeowners, renters or business owners – must register withFEMA to determine if they are eligible for federal assistance. Talking with
county officials or the American Red Cross or calling 2-1-1 does not makesurvivors eligible for FEMA assistance.
Although all FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers are closed, survivors of the2017 flooding and severestorms will still be able to get help with just a phone call. Many ofthe services available at recovery centers are accessible on the FEMA Helpline
at 800-621-3362. Operators willbe on duty from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. CST seven days a week until further notice.
