News Carousel Posted on November 26, 2025

University City shares its deep gratitude as City Manager Gregory Rose announces his plans to retire on February 6, 2026, concluding a remarkable 30-year public service career.
During the past eight years, Rose has helped guide our community through one of the most transformative periods in its history. His leadership advanced major initiatives such as the near completion of The Market at Olive redevelopment, long-awaited permanent homes for the University City Police Department and Municipal Court, and continued modernization of city operations and financial stability.
Going over and above, he has also led University City through three natural disasters, including two major floods and last spring’s tornado, working closely with state and federal partners to support residents and businesses through response and recovery. His steady presence throughout these challenges strengthened our community’s resilience. As Mayor Terry Crow shared, “Gregory has provided outstanding leadership, vision and tenacity… We are grateful for his service and for the momentum he has created for our city’s future.”
We thank him for his dedication, integrity, and the lasting foundation he leaves for University City. The City Council will share more information about the transition process in the months ahead.
