On Monday, the City Council paused in their deliberations to honor the University City 2022 Employee of the Year. Mayor Terry Crow and City Manager Gregory Rose alongside Human Resources Director Amy Williams awarded Linda Schaeffer, Human Resources Generalist, the award and title of Employee of the Year.

“Without question, Linda is perhaps one of the nicest persons I've ever met in my life. Even up under very stressful circumstances...she carriers herself with professionalism and such a demeanor that really focuses and centers on just trying to help you as a resident,” said City Manager Gregory Rose.

Schaeffer began working at the City of University City in 2018 as the secretary to the City Manager. She then moved departments and became a Human Resources Generalist.

“I am honored to receive such an award among so many well-deserving colleagues and consider it a pleasure and privilege to work with the citizens of University City every day.  I appreciate my colleagues motivating me to be my best and make working for the City of University City enjoyable,” said Linda Schaeffer.

The Employee of the Year award is a peer-nominated and peer-voted on award. It is an annual award that recognizes one individual who stood out amongst their peers and must demonstrate consistent extraordinary service. The award highlights the employee’s exceptional work, contribution, behavior, teamwork and successes throughout the prior year.

“This an award that a lot of people want but only one can get,” said Human Resources Director Amy Williams.
