Did You Know?*
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
* 13 Percent of Americans catch the flu every year -- closer to 20 percent during more active flu seasons, which equates to 62 million people walking around with the flu!
* Most healthy adults may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 5 to 7 days after becoming sick.
* The single best way to prevent the flu is to get a flu vaccination each season.
Bring your Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health Insurance ID card with you.
Flu vaccinations are safe and the best way to protect yourself from the flu; by getting immunized you are also protecting more vulnerable individuals such as infants and the elderly who are very susceptible to serious illness from influenza.
