University City’s recreation facility is hosting its highly-anticipated annual community outdoor yard sale this month. However, this year Centennial Commons is looking to utilize this community event as an opportunity to pay it forward and help children in the St. Louis area.
Centennial Commons is partnering with St. Louis Bicycle Works to host a bicycle drive during their yard sale to collect adult and children’s bicycles from the community. These donations benefit local children and young adults by providing them with the opportunity to receive a bike through St. Louis Bicycle Works’ Earn-a-Bike program.
The annual yard sale event is free and open to the public. Community organizations and civic groups will host booths at the event to provide the public with information about activities and involvement.
Also returning this year will be our FREE document shredding provided by The Shred Truck. It is suggested a limit of 3-5 bankers’ boxes per car - their employees will dump the boxes and you are welcome to watch your documents being shredded on the truck mounted camera system.
In the case of inclement weather, the yard sale will be cancelled, but the document shredding will proceed – as long as it isn't severe weather or lightning. For more information, contact Centennial Commons at 314-505-8625.
