On Apr. 17, the University City City Council ended their 2023-2024 session and began the new 2024-2025 session.
At this special convening of the City Council, the April 2 General Municipal Election results were certified, and the following members were sworn in to serve on the City Council:
- Jeff Hales, Councilmember Ward One (Four Years)
- John Tieman, Councilmember Ward Two (Four Years)
- Dennis Fuller, Councilmember Ward Two (Two Years)
- Bwayne Smotherson, Councilmember Ward Three (Four Years)
During the meeting, Mayor Terry Crow thanked Ward Two Councilmember Aleta Klein for her service to the City Council during her term. “On behalf of my colleagues and the citizens that we all represent, we appreciate the dedication and the effort Ms. Klein put into her position and her seat here on the Council. She was always engaged and professional, and we thank her for her service to our community,” said Crow.
Councilmember Tieman was elected to fill the Ward Two council seat replacing Klein, who did not seek reelection.
The next City Council meeting is scheduled for May 13.
